Opportunity Link, together with the North Central Montana Transit, Montana Energy Corps, and the
Montana Conservation Corps invite you to join us in celebrating our National Day of Service (also known
as Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service) on January 18, 2010. We will be promoting community service
with a focus on energy efficiency and the use of renewable and alternative energy resources.
We have prepared activities at the community parks in Rocky Boy’s and Fort Belknap Indian Reservations
and at the North Central Montana Transit bus facility. Everyone is encouraged to join AmeriCorps
members and community volunteers to install solar lamp posts, distribute CFL light bulbs and energy savings educational materials, and signing-up individuals that need hands-on weatherization assistance
in their homes.
The North Central Montana Transit, with assistance from MSU Northern, will also be promoting its use of biodiesel in their diesel buses on the same day. Volunteers will also be performing weatherization installations for those that need assistance in the week following the event.
